The Places That We Know area

The Sense of Place Toolkit covers all of the communities and landscapes within the project area of Places That We Know—the Muirshiel Hills, Lochwinnoch, Garnock Valley, Three Towns, Kilwinning and Irvine.

This geographical area comprises a range of different landscapes each with their own distinctive stories and characteristics. The River Garnock is at the heart of this area and has served and connected many of these communities since the arrival of people thousands of years ago.
